This is made from vitreous enamel fused onto sheet steel.  Heavy gauge - unlike modern versions this one can't be bent easily.  Very durable.  Made around 1950.

The white enamel is in relief, suggesting high quality craftsmanship and giving excellent definition.

Convex (domed).

From a consignment found near Lyon in Rhône-Alpes, France. This and around 200 others, some duplicates, have never been mounted on doors or walls. Stock from a warehouse, enameller's or ironmonger's abandoned many years ago.

4" high 6" wide.

This is the real thing from real France.  Not a copy, not made yesterday.
