Celebrate the Centennial of the Boy Scout organization with this Commemorative Silver Dollar, struck by the United States Mint.

This 2010 Boy Scouts Commemorative Silver Dollar is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.  The 2010 Boy Scouts Silver Dollar was struck to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America, the largest youth organization in the United States.  This BU version of the2010 Boy Scouts Dollar was minted at the Philadelphia Mint.  The 2010 Boy Scouts of America Dollar is composed of 90% Silver and 10% Copper with a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams.  The obverse of the 2010 Boy Scouts Dollar features a Cub Scout in the foreground with a Boy Scout and female Venturer in the background saluting.   The reverse of the 2010 Boy Scouts Dollar features the Boy Scouts of America's universal emblem.

Each coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, just as was when it left the U.S. Mint and presented in the original government packaging.

The obverse (heads side) design depicts a Cub Scout in the foreground with a Boy Scout and female Venturer in the background saluting. This design represents the Boy Scouts of America of today, as the organization has recognized the need to include other programs for younger boys (cub scouts) and older boys and girls (venturers), reflecting the great diversity of our nation. It is a dramatic representation of how the Boy Scouts of America has evolved over the past century to form a strong foundation of leadership, service, and community for all the youth of America.

The reverse (tails) design features the Boy Scouts of America's universal emblem.

Both designs were approved by Secretary of the Treasury Timothy F. Geithner on September 16, 2009, at the recommendation of the United States Mint, after consultation with the Boy Scouts of America and the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, as well as review by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee.
