Antique 19th Minton Parian Figure of DOROTHEA John Bell Sculpt. C1861

 

 Super 19thc Minton Parian Figure of Dorothea standing 13.5 inches tall.

 The figure was originally made for Summerly`s Art manufacture and registered on 4th October 1847.

 It was also made for the Art Union of London.

 

 The original life sized marble sculpture can be seen in Bowood House Wiltshire.

 Dorothea is a subject from Don Quixote.

 

This model of Dorothea is of excellent fine quality Parian and with fine crisp detail.

The condition is good with just a very minor flea sized nibble to the edge of her jacket and a flat chip on the base rim.

 

  Bearing the moulded applied reliefs for Felix Summerly and John Bell and the registration diamond.  Impressed MINTON and bearing the date code for c1861
