Blistering Southern California guitarist Dick Dale, the undisputed "King of Surf Music," is one of the most influential figures in rock ’n’ roll history. He birthed the genre single-handedly in 1961, and Surfers' Choice, Dale's scorching 1962 debut LP, spotlights surf classics “Let’s Go Trippin’,” “Peppermint Man" and “Surf Beat." Largely recorded at Dale's legendary Rendevous Ballroom in Balboa Beach.

Sundazed's vinyl restoration of the vintage Dale catalog features his landmark studio albums, Surfer's Choice, King of the Surf Guitar, Checkered Flag, Mr. Eliminator and Summer Surf, originally released between 1962 and 1964. All of those albums have been mastered from the original analog tapes, and are packaged with their complete original cover art.

Sundazed has plugged more gaps in the Dick Dale LP catalog by releasing Rock Out With Dick Dale and His Del-tones, which captures a typically incendiary 1965 live set by Dale and his fabled backup combo at the legendary Sunset Strip nightclub Ciro's.

 180 GRAM VINYL - In the half-century since he began his reign as King of the Surf Guitar, Dick Dale has remained one of rock's most innovative and influential axemen. Although he began releasing singles on his own Deltone label in the late '50s, Dale made much of his most enduring music during his '60s stint with Capitol Records. In addition to carving out the surf sound on the landmark albums Surfers' Choice, King of the Surf Guitar and Summer Surf, Dale turned for inspiration to another all-American pursuit--drag racing--to create the hot-rod music genre on the LPs Checkered Flag and Mr. Eliminator.

THIS vinyl restoration of the vintage Dale catalog features Summer Surf, Dale's superb 1964 collection. It's just the ticket for chasing those wintertime blues, as the man who single-handedly invented the genre cuts loose with what he does best. Whether it's the high-stakes excitement of "Glory Wave," the wacky hand-jive of "Mama's Gone Surfin'" or the raging glory of "Tidal Wave," the sand, the sun and the waves will always be with you if the sound of Dick Dale is close at hand!
