This unusual vegetable is known by various names but is a popular veg in Portugal, commonly used in the soup 'Caldo verde'. The leaves are rounder and larger than most similar vegetables, sweeter than cabbage, non heading and withstands heat extremely well.

Sowing time - In autumn to Winter for warm climates, in cool temperate climates grow early Spring. Germination best between 10-20 degrees c

Prefer sunny position, sow 5mm deep, emerge 6-10days
