Antique Black Forest Wrought Iron Andirons Fire Dogs Fir Star France 16th C

Antique french black forest andirons in hall hand worked wrought iron and engraved with firs and stars made in Alsace Lorraine during the 16th century. One is straight the other sligthly tilted for rotisserie with 5 positions for rods and balls on the top of baluster for broken the bones. The firs and stars decor are symbol of the nobility of this french black forest country. 23 1/2" (59.5cm) height, 7 3/4" (19,5cm) width, 19 3/4" (49.5cm) depth, weight 27lb 12,45oz (12,6 kilograms). Perfect condition with beautiful patina as shown by the following pictures.

D'origine un droit et l'autre de biais pour faciliter le rôtissage (5 positions pour les broches) et sont surnommés Casse-os: les boules surmontant les balustres aident à briser les os pour extraire la moelle. Ils dont ornés de motifs au burin, sapin et étoiles symbole des noblesses rustiques de la région. Très bel état d'usage, léger jeu au rivetage. Hauteur 59,5 cm, profondeur 49,5 cm, largeur 19,5cm.
