Plaster moulding made during the Victorian 19th Century era for the aristocracy whilst they were on their Grand Tours in Europe. They either made their own whilst on their travels or the museums caught onto them wanting souvenirs of the Classic Roman and Greek intaglios as well as copies of medals and medallions too. This is a single item from a small group that were originally housed in a small pine wood cabinet with trays that could be lifted out. They include larger plaques which are very fine in detail. I would imagine these are miniature wall plaques from temples or grand buildings.

This one is a fine relief wall plaque with a picture of Jesus in a room full of people with large pillars. Titled Peter Said, Silver & Gold Have I None... etc. by Henning F. 1821 which is After Raphael.

Please be aware that the photos used in this listing will appear darker than the item actually is to show off any details as they are hard to pick up in the white plaster. The corners have been sanded down, they are not chipped.

This looks much better when in your hand than it does on these photographs.

This one measures approx. 265mm x 180mm and 6mm deep.
Delicate.
