Medal ribbons are passed through the bottom opening and hang securely on the bars.  Has two mounting holes and comes with two black screws.  Also included are two small spacers you can use when mounting in order to space the medal display out from the wall in case you want to add more medals later.  This would save you the hassle of having to unscrew the medal display from the wall to add medals.Makes a great gift for the marathon runner in your life. 

If you have more than six medals, be sure to add the "Extra Bar" model to your order because it will hold six more.  Just mount it underneath your other medal rack and create a second tier for your medals.
