AECHMEA RECURVATA X RECURVATA
This is a varied species from Brazil where it is found growing as an epiphyte on trees and amongst rocks. The tight rosette of stiff spined deeply recurved leaves blush a beautiful bright to deep red on flowering followed by a cone shaped cluster of pink/purple flowers.
A noble and striking plant, these specimens are the true species growing to about 10 inchs tall. 
 It makes a fine specimen mounted on a natural support or container grown.
A remarkable species and great addition to any Bromeliad display.
Prefers a well lit position rather than shady.
