Individually and Sequentially Numbered Figurine

This listing is for a hand-painted, injection molded plastic figurine of President Bill Clinton, made to look like the 3 inch Marx Presidents figurines of the 1950s and '60s.

Tens of thousands of presidential figurines made by the Marx Toy Company were sold over the years.  Thousands of these vintage collectors items have appeared on eBay as individual listings and in sets, with the most recent president being Richard Nixon.  Infrequently, the rare Ronald Reagan figure appears (made when he was a candidate for president in 1968).  Because Marx was sold in 1972, they never made figurines of presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump or Joe Biden.  Starting in 2003, collector Patric M. Verrone began producing figurines in the Marx tradition.  Thousands of these new figurines have been produced and have been featured in WIRED Magazine (www.wired.com/2009/10/st-verrone-futurama/) and The New Yorker (www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/03/06/a-comedy-writer-makes-trump-collectibles).

Like the vintage Marx product, this figurine is about 3 inches tall (60mm), machine cast in plastic, and painted with enamel paint.  The name "CLINTON" appears on the front of the base.  On the back of the base raised letters say, "42ND 1993-2001."  Unlike the Marx figurines, each figurine is individually and sequentially numbered on a sticker on the bottom of the base.

Also for sale separately are figurines of U.S. presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden.  The nine president figurines are also available as a set.

Also available is a plastic display stand, designed in the manner of the Styrofoam stand that accompanied the 1970 releases of the Marx sets.  It can hold up to 49 figurines.  These stands are also individually and sequentially numbered.  A listing photo shows the entire set, from George Washington to Joe Biden, displayed on the stand.
