Description
MALE DB9 adapter / breakout board with 9 pins connected to screw terminal blocks, allowing simple and quick
connections for prototyping or permanent installation.
Two
versions are available: This listing is for the MALE variant.
- Male DB9 with Captive screws for use with a mating
connector that already has Screwlock / Jack screws fitted
- Female DB9 with Screwlock / Jack screws for mounting
the adaptor board to a wall box or panel that has a DB9 cut-out - see alternative listing in my eBay shop.
Captive
screws are male #4-40 UNC screws coming out of the face of the connector to
accommodate direct mounting to a mating connector with jack screws.
Screwlock / Jack screws are the hex standoffs often
fitted on D-SUB connectors. They are threaded for #4-40 UNC screws. They are for
connecting to a cable which has thumbscrews or for mounting in a wall plate /
panel which has a DB9 cut-out
Details
This low profile board is no taller and only slightly wider than the connector
itself. This can be important for installations where equipment contains
multiple connectors which are spaced closely together. These adapter boards can
be mounted directly to the equipment without using extension cables.
These adapter boards are used
for experimentation or prototype work with RS-232 serial ports, I/O cards, and
any other device that uses a DB9 connector.
