You will be getting 30pcs of our premium quality alder cones along with 1 piece of 1" diameter x 6" long cholla cactus wood from Arizona USA, and 3pcs of Brazil cariniana savu pods. With this combination, you provide your shrimps with a place to hide, a place to play, and a place to feed all at the same time. Shrimp just love cholla woods. All kinds of beneficial processes happen during their breakdown due to their softness. Similar to catappa leaves or alder cones, tannins are released into the water. This will stain the water slightly yellow color which some consider unsightly but it actually helps imitate the natural habitat of many shrimp species. Most importantly, tannins have antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which help protect your shrimp against disease. As cholla wood breaks down a layer of biofilm, will form on it. This makes it the perfect place for shrimp to forage, a piece of cholla wood will likely have a few shrimps on it at any given time. 

Cholla is a great hiding place for shrimp. You can use it as a natural-looking alternative to ceramic shrimp flats. Shrimp will especially appreciate it while molting when they're very vulnerable and like to be able to retreat to a safe place.

Our premium quality large-size alder cones are selling like hotcakes. The response is overwhelming since we put it up for sale. We import them directly in large quantities so that we can keep our selling price low for you. We filter out every flawed cone that is tiny, bad, or damaged and select only the best to sell on eBay. If you use them in your tank expect some shrimp on them at all times. It'll be such a pleasant & enjoyable moment just watching them gather around the cones. I recommend 1 cone per every 5 gallons of water (20 liters). Wait a while to see what happens and work your way up from there if desired. The cones leach tannin for about a month after which you can replace them or just leave them to grow more biofilm for the shrimp to munch on.

Cariniana is also called savu pod or trumpet pod. They are seed pod that drop from cariniana legalis trees some of which are more than 1,500 years old in Brazil. Their natural structure and perfect size are one of the best hide-out places for any shrimp in an aquarium. Tons of biofilm will grow on them thus your shrimps will munch on them and will very likely never go hungry again. They take almost a year to break down in the water.
