I have a sizable collection of retro repro signs which I had purchased from Germany in the late 1990's, mostly for use in my own auto dealership and shop / garage back in that era. I am no longer in the auto dealership business, so here I am selling off my surplus like-new and used personal collection. I will be listing and offering many more interesting automobile / motorcycle memorabilia as we go along!
Here is an NOS (New Old Stock) and never-been-used 1930's STANDARD OIL & GAS Co reproduction sign. It is like a poster but printed on tin metal with folded borders. It has 4 pre-drilled holes (no grommets) for wall hanging but it can also be displayed with custom-made frames (not included!).
The caption is in GERMAN: Für glatte fahrt ist Standard wichtig which translates to: Standard [gas] is important for a smooth ride.
Warning: because this is a period-correct sign based on a Nürburgring race in the 1930's, both the Nazi flag and the Axis flag of Italy can be seen on the poster! Please DO NOT buy if you find this material offensive or live in a country where the possession of such memorabilia is prohibited.
The approximate size is: 15 x 13 INCHES. This sign weighs about 13 ounces.
Photos are taken indoors under studio lighting, so the actual colors may be slightly different under natural light. These are older items which may have developed some patina and may also show minor storage / shelf wear and scoff marks but noticeable cosmetic flaws, if any, will be separately disclosed!
