Exquisite Ormolu Mantel Clock with hourly striking movement by Japy Freres, Stamped F. Philippe, from the famous Palais Royal house of Master Craftsmen. 

It is set within a beautiful Ormolu Baroque case surmounted by an ornate urn braced in Ormolu handles and peaked cover and garlanded with blooming flowers.

The 3.5 inch green and white enamelled dial is wreathed in vines and displaying a young man serenading his shepherdess paramour with a lyre in the centre of the clock face.

 This magnificent work of the clock makers art also bears beautifully depicted rural scenes on  both sides and lower frontal face.
