Fair condition with a heavily worn leather bound cover. Joint cracks and heavy edge wear. Fully intact. Text toned throughout with spotting on some pages ranging from light to heavy. Leaf 29/30 has corner torn away with some copy on page 30 missing o/w text is complete and legible. Text also includes two sections by John Gill, "The Divine Right of Baptism, Examined and Disproved; Being an Answer to a Pamphlet, Entitled, A Brief Illustration and Confirmation of the Divine Right of Infant Baptism. Printed in Boston in New England, 1746." Also, by John Gill: “A Sermon Occasioned by the Death of Mr. Edward Ludlow,…” preached by John Gill, is heavily toned but completely legible. Two blank end pages are partially loose o/w the text is tight and fully readable. Two inscriptions of ownership on title page verso dated 1797 and 1851. Rare and of great historical value.
