Octavianus Mirandula was a 16th-century anthologist who is
best known for his collections of quotes and passages of famous authors. In his
work ‘Illustrium Poetarum Flores’,
Mirandula gathers several Latin quotes from works of Virgin, Ovid, Horace,
Lucretius, and Catallus. It was regularly reissued throughout the 16th-century,
but this edition collected by John of Tournes was the first published in
Geneva. John of Tournes left Lyon in 1582 and began publishing in Geneva.
