Ceylon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Verum / Cinnamomum Zeylanicum), also referred to as true cinnamon is produced from the dried inner bark of the Ceylon Cinnamon tree which is native to Sri Lanka (Ceylon).  Although cinnamon is grown in various parts of the sub-continent and Africa, authentic Ceylon Cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka.

This variety of Ceylon Cinnamon naturally contains extremely low levels of coumarin, a substance which can be damaging to the liver when taken in high doses.
