STRAIGHT FROM A HOUSE CLEARANCE.....please read the whole description :-)

A fabulous 2-piece green luggage set,  probably from the 1930`s.

Made by the Kowloon Rattan Ware Co in Hong Kong.

They`ve certainly had a `life`,  and the larger one in particular is quite age-worn.  Both cases have hand-written names etc...on them as you can see,  but also have some true period travel labels relating to the RMS Alcantara, a Royal Mail Lines ship that was used as a troop ship during WW2.

Both have green lining,  almost certainly silk as they originated in Hong Kong.  Some marks commensurate with age to the interior obviously.   Metalware on the exterior does have surface corrosion which is to be expected.

These would benefit from a good clean,  and it`s nice to have two of them,  so would make great vintage storage.   They are not perfect, they are not new, a bit like me really.
