Wonderful estate sterling silver serving spoon, Motto cartouche of a arm with sword and snake.  The back of the spoon has a rattail

Marked  "JS(John Smith), Dublin (Seated person), Crown over harp (Sterling), j (1822), queen Victoria head ".

 I have been given the following info "The crest on your spoon likely belongs to the Callagan or O'Callagan family. The blazon (heraldic description) for the crest is:

"A Naked Arm Embowed Holding In The Hand A Sword With A Snake Entwined Round The Blade, The Head Towards The Hand, All Proper."

8 3/4" long.

Good antique condition, the spoon tip is very rounded
