Red Diamonds

Red is the rarest and most highly valued of all diamonds. The largest red. Mousaieff Red at 5.11 carats is the largest pure red diamond ever graded.

Green Diamonds

Green are very rare with less than 10 coming on to the market each year. Natural green diamonds are so rare that most jewellers will never see one. The Dresden Green diamond is the most famous.

Blue Diamonds

Blue diamonds, along with pink have increased the most in value over the past 30 years. While blue diamonds over five carats are extremely rare, the Hope Diamond was blue. The Cullinan Mine in South Africa is the leading producer of blue diamonds internationally.

Yellow Diamonds

Yellow are probably the most affordable diamonds, but will increase as they become more scarce. Some of the largest diamonds are yellow diamonds including the Tiffany Diamond and the Kimberly Octahedron. Natural Intense Fancy Yellow diamonds are extremely rare.

Pink Diamonds

Pink are rare and very valuable. The primary source is the Argyle mine in Australia although some have been found in Brazil, Tanzania and India. Pink diamonds with no secondary colouring are the rarest and most expensive. Pink is associated with love and compassion because these are heart qualities. There are 5 colour categories: Pink, Purplish Pink, Brownish Pink, Orangey Pink and Pink Champagne.

Carbonado, commonly known as black diamond, is one of the toughest forms of natural diamond, It is an impure, high-density, micro-porous form of polycrystalline diamond consisting of diamond, graphite and amorphorus carbon with minor crustalline precioitates filling pores and occasional reduced metal inclusion.
