AYE OF THE TIGER!
The lovely old city of Turnhout Belgium was the
birthplace of the Playing Card industry in the 19th Century. The most
famous of its manufacturers was La Turnhoutoise (she who hails from
Turnhout), whose superb playing cards are valuable collectible works of
art today (google the name for images).
The logo of La
Turnhoutoise was a tiger. Here you have a very rare original 500 Franc
bond from the company with its trademark tiger cub trotting happily
through the jungle!
The bond, which is printed in French, was
issued in 1947 and has a full sheet of interest coupons as large as the
bond itself, which remains in crisp uncirculated condition.
A
great gift for the playing card (or tiger) collector or anyone else
who'd love to have a great earth tone European bond to frame at the unbelievable
price of $4.99!! Sells for up to $50 on scripophily sites! SAVE 90%!!!
