It's hand crafted in the age-old tradition of miniature painting on lacquer. Made in Russia in 1990.

It's smaller than the normal plates: 7 and 3/4 inches. It also has two holes in the back, so it can be hung right against the wall. Some photos have reflections of the lighting, which should be ignored. It's simply elegant and detailed. The painting is based on the folk tale "The Twelve Months," which is written in English in the smaller brochure.
