This is an antique cylindrical box that is made from card or papier mache and maybe has a leather covering? who knows - not me.

Engine turned design which is embossed onto the material like you find on book covers of the period.

Could be used for any number of things... to keep a nice quality dip ink pen in or fountain pen or retractable pencil etc, or for sewing needles.. hat pins or doctors tools. Whatever you like.

No maker's marks etc.

In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. No damage but it has been used, the lid is faded and there is wear on the edges and inside the lid....from use of taking on and off.

The box measures approx. 6 inches long and approx. 1 inch in diameter....inside is approx 16mm dia.
