“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”

― Marcus Tullius Cicero

Cicero was one of the most notable and prolific Roman figures of ancient Rome. His philosophical works and letters are considered the most reliable source of information for the period leading up to the fall of the Roman Republic. The works of Cicero have been published in numerous languages and formats from as early as the mid-15th-century.

This Latin set was published by Peter Van der Aa in Lyon in 1692 and was edited by the famous Dutch scholar Jacob Gronovius. Gronovius included the contributions of Janus Gruterus and Janus Gulielmus.
