It has exquisite ornately carved details, has a beautiful ebonized finish, has a plethora of intricately carved acanthus foliate leaf, vine, floral and scroll detailing, a hidden dovetailed drawer for storage, and sits on wooden castors with brass beaded crowns for ease of movement! Moreover, it has a magnificent large fully carved Center Urn on the base. It is simply fabulous and quite rare!
The large original scalloped turtle cut white marble top is in overall great condition for its age with some minor discolorations and one very insignificant hairline (see e-Bay photos) that does not impact its beauty or structural integrity and sits upon a magnificent ebonized scalloped turtle base. The magnificent scalloped turtle top base has intricately carved acanthus foliate leaf, vine, floral and scroll detailing that extends all around and onto all four of the graceful undulating cabriole legs.
These graceful cabriole legs have additional scroll details on the ankles and are joined together with a fancy foliate scrolled stretcher that is completed with an absolutely magnificent fully carved large Center Urn as well as a lovely large turned distal finial. Finally, wooden castors with brass beaded crowns on the feet provide ease of movement. This piece exudes very fine quality and elegance indeed.
