1967-68 EXOTO LOTUS TYPE 49 1968 Grand Prix of Spain, driven by Jo Siffert In 1968, Jo Siffert raced the same Lotus 49 (49/R2) that Jim Clark had driven during the most part of 1967. The car, Exoto item #GPC97004, was now painted in the famous blue and white colors of Rob Walker Racing. The team was a very successful independent operation in the days when private teams could still be competitive. Rob Walker, owner of the TWT team and heir to the vast Johnny Walker Scotch whisky fortune, had the first and only private team to ever defeat factory supported teams in World Championship Grand Prix racing! Rob Walker Racing did this nine times between 1958 and 1968 with such well known drivers as Stirling Moss, Jo Siffert, Jo Bonnier and Maurice Trintignant.
