DESCRIPTION:
Large imressive antique gilt rococo mirror in ornate gold leaf carved wood frame in the 18th century manner of French king Louis XV and dates from early 20th century .
In very good condition with gilt finish. This mirror has its original mirror glass.
The rococo design allows for serpentine shapes with carved details that on the whole look balanced just like the shape of a shell or "rocaille". The scrolls on each side are balanced on the other side with elegant scrolls acanthus vine leaf all carved in solid wood. A top vine leaf scroll completes this impressive mirror.
