This book came out in 2006.  Written by Noel Wells, a man well versed in weapons and sunken treasure from working for Mel Fisher (of Key West's Atocha shipwreck fame) in Sebastian Florida, (of 1715 Spanish Fleet shipwreck fame) where he used modern techniques to stabilize and preserve thousands of artifacts of all types from sunken shipwrecks.
Mr Wells, former merchant seaman, has won 3 gold medals in national pistol competitions.  A very hands on shooter.
Foreword written by Eugene Lyons, Ph.D.  (famous in the sunken treasure world, recently passed)
From his book, we learn of the nature, origins and employ of pikes and lances, knives, swords, cutlasses and machetes, daggers, muskets, pistols, crossbows, grenades and "stinkpots" as well as blunderbusses. There are black and white illustrations of artifacts from land and sea.  Even handled, posing for the camera, considered a new book.
172 pages, published in Dallas Texas by Rock Bottom Publications, measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches, in a shiny dust cover over a red hardcover book, it is a good read first time through, excellent reference guide for all times thereafter.
