This item is a vintage new "old stock" Seidlitz Powders U.S.P. distributed by Charles R. Doane Inc. New York, New York. This was used for laxative purposes.
The cardboard box measures 3 X 1 1/2 X 1 1/8 inches and contains 3 doses using two separate packets. The box and contents are in excellent condition. We do note a red checkmark on the front of the box, likely done by the drugstore staff checking in the item vs a packing list from when it was received. The box has no rips, stains, tears, or blemishes.
Dosing is to dissolve one blue pack in water and stir thoroughly, then add the contents of the white paper. Stir and drink as effervescence subsides. It becomes fizzy. There are three ingredients of Seidlitz powders (tartaric acid, potassium sodium tartrate and sodium bicarbonate).
