Petz, a trademark of Anton Kiesewetter, Coburg Germany, founded in 1849 began making bears in 1921. Their Petz trademark, a German colloquial term for bear, was created in 1947 and their iconic milk glass chest buttons were sewn to their animal's chests starting in the early 1950s. Sadly, their company closed in 1967 due to the influx of cheaper Asian imports.
