Duke Snider, nicknamed "the Duke of Flatbush," was a great MLB player, who played primarily centerfield for 18 seasons. The first 16 of those years, he spent with the Brooklyn / Los Angeles Dodgers. During that time, Duke helped lead the Dodgers to six World Series, winning in 1955 and 1959. He was the one of central figures of the great Brooklyn teams of the 1950's. He was the N.L. MVP runner-up in 1955 and he made 8 All-Star teams. Duke won the N.L. RBI title in 1955 and the N.L. Home Run title in 1956. He finished his career with a .295 batting average and over 400 home runs. After retiring from the field, Duke became a TV analyst and play-by-play announcer for the San Diego Padres from 1969 to 1971 and for the Montreal Expos from 1973 to 1986. He was named to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980 and his Number #4 was been retired by the Dodgers. The Duke passed away at the age of 84 in 2011. This is a rather rare helmet and would be a great addition for any Dodgers or MLB fan. If you have any questions, please let us know. Your satisfaction is always our main priority.
