You are buying one (1) fat quarter (FQ) of the Willow Ptarmigan from the State Birds collection designed by Suzan Ellis for Northcott. This means that if you buy a quantity of one, the fabric piece you will receive measures 18" x 21"/22", but multiple quantities are cut off in one continuous length the full width of the fabric. The Alaska state bird, the Willow Ptarmigan is surrounded by the Alaska state flower, which is the Forget-me-not. The birds and flowers are beautifully arranged on a white snow background. Most of the photos included are actual scans of the fabric; some of them include a ruler at the bottom and or side that show the size of the motifs relative to the square of fabric shown. Some photos are ones that were provided by the manufacturer and/or fabric warehouse. The last photo shows all 29 different birds that represent all 50 States plus one that is the National Bird. The only fabric you are buying is the one shown in first several photos up to the picture that shows the selvage. Check our other listings for the other birds in the collection.
This fabric is priced by the single 1/4 yard increment, so you can choose the amount that is right for you from the quantity available. The pictures really don't do the fabric justice. It is much more beautiful than any picture can show. We are sure that when you see it and feel it you will agree.
