Single-seat F-5s and twin-cockpit F-5Bs will be deployed to several countries around the world ,to replace F-86 and F-84 type aircraft which are becoming obsolete and difficult to maintain & operate.The twin-engine F-5s are supersonic ,carry more than 6200 pounds of weapons and external fuel,including bombs ,rockets , missiles, napalm and guns , as well as reconnaissance and surveillance equipment.The F-5s carry more weapons per pound of airframe than any other supersonic fighter in service today.
