RARE WOODEN JIGSAW PUZZLE GEORGES MARONIEZ FISHERMAN’S HAVEN

Up for auction and WITHOUT a reserve is one of a number of items I will be listing. This item is a great small puzzle made on 3 ply veneer wood titled “Fisherman’s Haven” by artist Georges Maroniez. It is over 200 pieces and puzzle #222. It may be a Straus but I am not positive.

THIS PUZZLE CAME FROM THE COLLECTION OF HARRY RINKER, THE COLLECTOR AND WRITER OF MANY COLLECTOR BOOKS. IT CAME OUT OF WHAT WAS KNOWN AS THE "PUZZLE PIT" A COLLECTION OF ABOUT 5000 PUZZLES.

This is in very good condition with minor wear from age and use. There are some very small tips broken off from the front but hardly noticeable. On the back/bottom there are some spots that have a layer of the wood missing. Just pieces, none are missing a full layer. Due to the unusual way the puzzle is cut, there are some pieces (5 or less) that have broken connections because they are thin. This just makes two smaller pieces. I chose not to fix and will leave that to the buyer. The box is in good shape but does have some issues and tape repairs but it is holding together and did it’s job well of protecting the puzzle through the years.
