1926 on the Bishop’s House ecclesiastical letterhead; 1 page: "… I am in
receipt of your letter of the 30th ult. In connection with your program of
contests and essays on Irish history. We will be pleased to give you every
encouragement in this work; I call your attention to the fact, however, that
this is a cosmopolitan Diocese in which we have some 30 mining towns, speaking
the languages of the first Pentecost Sunday...." and forwarding Ford’s
request to Rev. E.J. Cahill for program development. “…We have certain schools
that are entirely German, others Lithuanian, Polish, Slovak, etc., hence the
importance of dealing with Father Cahill…Wishing you every success in
