Here is a beautiful Art Nouveau  Royal presentation gift brooch in the original box of issue as well.
In my opinion the Crown is that of King George V and he was monarch from 1910 - 1936  ... the brooch is very much Art Nouveau in style and not Deco.
So the brooch as you can see it has a beautiful flowing flower leafy design which has the Crown at the top as if it were the flower.
The enamel colours are pale green and a purple hue and
some areas are damaged - see the close up photographs.. its flaked off back to the gold metal... which is a great shame.

The Crown is beautiful with 15 rose cut diamonds and red enamel as well as green and white enamel down at the bottom for the gemstones.
Look now to the back.....see how well it has been made and its marked
18c near the hinge of the pin end.
The pin is complete and it is gold too.
The leather presentation box..... you can see this has got scuffs and rubs too... it has a domed top with the gilt CROWN on the top matching the brooch.. indicating this is a
ROYAL GIFT - PRESENTATION brooch...for a Coronation or Jubilee etc......fine gilt line ...the push button a hinge are good.
It has a
GW impressed mark on the bottom of the box.
Under the lid it is a cream silk and the brooch fits into a slot in the cream velvet base.
It has been used many times by the look of it as the box is quite worn... the retailers name under the lid is
Johnson, Walker & Tolhurst Ltd, 172 New Bond St. London.
The brooch really needs a little more research to see which King it actually relates to as it could be Edward VIII as well as George V of course, who it was given to, how many were made, and what was the special occasion... often this sort of item was given to certain people during the Coronations or Jubilee celebrations etc.
The brooch is 4cm long x 2.5cm wide x 6mm wide....and it weighs approx..... 6.5grams.
The box is just over 2 and 3/4 inch long x 2 inch wide x 1 inch deep.
A great item for the ROYAL collectors.
