AEC Lorries in the Post-War Years 1945-1979, by Graham Edge

Published by Roundoak in 1994, 152 pages. Hardback with Dust Jacket - c.21cm by 28cm (N8225X1)

Brand New Book

From the inside front fly leaf: The Associated Equipment Company Ltd., more commonly known as AEC, had for over 50 years the enviable reputation - "builders of London's buses". From its formation in 1912, AEC was primarily a passenger vehicle manufacturer which made goods vehicles. Through the years, both types evolved into comprehensive ranges which achieved world-wide acclaim for their high quality design and engineering excellence. By 1960 AEC was a leading commercial vehicle builder with global sales and a product catalogue which encompassed nearly every kind of application where a diesel engine provided the means of propulsion. The 1962 merger between Leyland Motors and AEC created a company with the potential to dominate the World's commercial vehicle markets outside of the V.S.A. For many reasons this potential was never fulfilled in the subsequent years, finally resulting in the acrimonious demise of AEC in 1979. Many books have been written about AEC passenger vehicles, but AEC lorries have not been as well covered. This volume attempts to re-dress the balance with a study of the most popular models which were familiar sights on the roads in the post-war years.

The book is illustrated throughout with colour and black and white photographs showing the vehicles themselves.

When we post our books, we take great care in packaging them - first your book will be wrapped in bubblewrap, which protects the book and even keeps out any rain (in the event that it's raining when the postie delivers it!). Then we wrap your book in stiff cardboard, taking care to make sure all the corners are protected, and finally the package is wrapped in thick brown paper.
