Jack Singer (Cage) agrees to tie the knot with his beautiful girlfriend, Betsy (Parker), in a quickie Vegas ceremony. But when he loses a huge poker bet to mobster Tommy Korman (Caan), the marriage knot -- and Jack's life -- start unraveling fast. To get out of the debt, Jack "loans" Betsy to Korman for the weekend, only to discover the love-struck plans to win her away for good.
On her deathbed, a mother makes a son promise never to get married, which scars him with psychological blocks to a commitment with his girlfriend. They finally decide to tie the knot in Vegas. After losing $65,000 to professional gambler and con man Tommy Korman, penniless private investigator Jack Singer agrees to let Korman borrow his beautiful fiancee for a Hawaiian getaway to pay off his debts. But when Betsy -- who looks just like Korman's late wife -- begins to fall for her charismatic captor, the commitment-phobic Singer must race against the clock to track them down and win her back.
