900M series soldering iron tips are suitable for 907 (C1151), 907-ESD (C1152), 933, 936, 937, 942 soldering stations.
Proper use of the soldering iron head and regular attention to the cleaning and maintenance of the soldering iron head not only greatly increases the life of the soldering iron head, but also fully utilizes the heat transfer performance of the soldering iron head.
Soldering iron tip protection:
1. Before welding work
The cleaning sponge must be wetted with water first, and then the excess water must be squeezed out. Only in this way can the soldering iron tip get the best cleaning effect. Using a non-moistened cleaning sponge can damage the tip of the soldering iron and prevent it from tinning.
2. When welding work
The following soldering sequence can protect the tip of the soldering iron and reduce the oxidation rate. 3. After welding work
Adjust the temperature to about 250°C first, then clean the tip of the soldering iron and apply a fresh coat of tin for protection. (If using a non-temperature-controlled soldering iron, cut off the power first and let the temperature of the soldering iron tip drop slightly before tinning.)
4. Precautions：
a. Use low temperature soldering as much as possible
High temperature will accelerate the oxidation of the soldering iron tip and reduce the life of the soldering iron tip. If the tip temperature exceeds 470°C, it will oxidize twice as fast as 380°C.
b. Always keep the tip of the soldering iron tinned
This reduces the chance of oxidation of the tip and makes the tip more durable. After use, the temperature of the soldering iron tip should be lowered slightly before adding new solder, so that the tinned layer has a better anti-oxidation effect.
c. Keeps soldering iron tips clean and instant oxide removal
If there is black oxide on the tip, the tip may not be tinned and must be cleaned immediately. When cleaning, first adjust the temperature of the soldering iron tip to about 250°C, then clean the soldering iron tip with a cleaning sponge, and then tin it. Repeat the action until the oxide is removed.
d. Put the soldering iron on the soldering iron stand
When the soldering iron is not needed, the soldering iron should be carefully placed on a suitable soldering iron stand to prevent the soldering iron tip from being damaged by collision.
