Many paintings on the internet created on canvas sold by others will arrive rolled up in a cardboard tube.  This allows these sellers to avoid the significant expense of stretching your painting, as well as the much greater cost of shipping your painting in stretched form.  How nice of them!

All of our paintings are stretched and ready to either frame or to hang as-received   We include in your price the extra cost of shipping a large (up to 36X48X3 inches) package by Fedex, and we also include the cost of stretching your paintings.

Thus, should your painting arrive in a tube, you are faced with the additional expense of  properly stretching and mounting your floppy canvas on stretcher bars.  Recent quotations for stretching paintings from national chain and from local framers range from a low of $45.00 for a 20X24 inch painting to $150.00 for a very large 36X48 inch painting.  So you can figure out how much you save by paying us a little extra for our already stretched paintings. You also save the hassle of finding someone to stretch your paintings, delivering them and then picking them up days or weeks later.


This is a genuine individual oil painting, not an ink print on canvas (often described by sellers with the French word "giclee" as a sophisticated verbal emolument). It began life as a bare piece of canvas. Then, a talented young artist worked his magic by hand with brushes and palette knives working oil paint on a palette, and a container of linseed oil.
