An 80 page soft-cover book telling the fascinating story of the M.V. LYMINGTON - an unhonoured pioneer. Built in 1938 for the Southern Railway's Isle of Wight services, and the first vessel of her type in the world, she introduced the combination of double ended construction and Voith Schneider propulsion units fore and aft, still accepted as the finest and most versatile arrangement available for short distance passenger vehicle ferries. Now renamed SOUND OF SANDA, and employed on Western Ferries Firth of Clyde services, this historic vessel celebrates in 1988 half a century of virtually unbroken service, and can indeed justly claim to have orchestrated the theme "The Sound of Success". Extensively illustrated in black and white the book includes technical drawings and diagrams. The item is new.

NOTE: WE ALWAYS COMBINE SHIPPING ON MORE THAN ONE ITEM.  eBAY SETTINGS HAVE CHANGED AND CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE OF THE UK PLEASE EITHER : Add all the items to your basket (do not "buy it now" if more than one item), then when you are ready to get a combined invoice:- on the payment page "ask seller for total" we should then be able to send you a combined invoice after having weighed the brochures to your destination.  Alternatively if you "buy it now" and you pay excess shipping costs we will then give you a refund for excess shipping charges.  Our postal rates are only what we pay to Royal Mail plus a little extra for packing materials.  If you have any problems please e-mail, many thanks.
