Item Number 23-205

Antique ice skates made by Peck & Snyder in New York.  Estimated to be from the early 1900s, perhaps the 1910 time frame.  The skates measure 14 1/4 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide on top of the wood platforms and are about 1 1/2 inches from bottom of runner to top of the wood platforms.  The wood platforms incorporate brass heel plates on top.  The Peck & Snyder Company was established in 1866 in New York City, as a sporting store, and sold the retail business to Spaulding in early 1900s to concentrate on manufacturing.  The are still in business, according to our research.

The skates are in good condition overall.  The wood platforms show some friction wear against ice and a small nick in the wood at the back on one skate, as shown pointed to by arrows in pictures.  There are some small areas of rust on the steel blades, again as seen in pictures.  Only one leather strap and it is fragile.

NOTE:  Items are sold "as-is" and by nature have been previously used.  Condition assessment is our best effort and may not be comprehensive.  We welcome questions.
