This is an antique heavy quality Georgian c1820 Sheffield Plate bain marie, warming entree dish or serving dish with a Welsh family Livery crest engraved onto the side of the lid.

The crest has the Welsh rampant dragon in the centre with the motto DYRO GYNYG at the top.

Google doesn't seem to know what this is at all....other than its Welsh related and has the rampant dragon as the livery crest.. the 2 words are strange and the last one means ADVENTURE. So I am sure some of the Welsh collectors may know who's family this very nice quality entree warming dish once belonged to.

The inside bottom has a really nice pierced design where the hot water sits.

No maker's marks and no metal marks etc.

Please see pictures provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition.
It has been used with surface scuffs and scratches.

It measures approx. 13 inches long including the handles on the sides x 8 inches tall including the handle at the top x 8 and 1/2 inches wide.

It weighs approx. 3.5 kilos. So overseas shipping reflects this.
