NO RESERVE. 1/72WWII German Sd.Kfz. 162/1 Jagdpanzer IV L/43 Tank Destroyer Unit #112 Pre-production 0-series armored vehicle inspected by Generaloberst ("Colonel-General") Heinz Guderian in January 1944, with the type subsequently being nicknamed "Guderian Ente" ("Guderian's Duck).

The model replicates the camouflage scheme and "112" of the vehicle which was inspected by Guderian but the numbers on both sides of its hull are shown in red digits outlined by white while a color rendering of the actual vehicle we've have located on the Internet shows the numbers made up of black digits outlined in white. It could be that the only pictures of the actual unit which exist are black and white photos and the difference is due to interpreting what the color of the numbers were.

Although the dark color of the model's two-color camouflage scheme appears brown in our pictures it is actually olive drab on the model.

Note that labeling on the printed card that is inserted inside the model's flexible plastic cover identify it as a Jagdpanzer IV/70 - meaning that it mounted a 7.5 cm Pak 39 (L/70) gun rather than the correct shorter-barreled 7.5 cm Pak 39 (L/43) installed on the 0-series pre-production machine as well as the early production batches - some of which had the slightly-longer 7.5 cm Pak 39 (L/48).

The L/43, L/48 and L/70 suffixes for the gun refer to the caliber, with the respective lengths being 10' 7.0", 11' 10.3" and 17' 2.7". The the length of the model's gun extending beyond the mantel is 7/8 inches - with some of the gun's length being inside the gun compartment, the figure is in general compliance with the length of an actual 7.5 cm Pak 39 (L/43). By way of comparison the length of the gun barrel extending beyond the mantel of 1/72 Scale Jagdpanzer IV L/70 released by Altaya is 1 3/4 inches.
