This listing is for a genuine French vitreous enamel on sheet steel street sign.  Displayed on the road in question and removed due to replacement, renaming, redevelopment or roadwork.

12" x 20" or 30cm x 50cm with a 1" flange.

Large and very heavy gauge.

The white enamel is in relief - excellent definition.

This sign was made in 1950s and is from Lille.

This Victor Renard was a high ranking militant trade unionist in the local weaving industry.  He was killed nearby in 1914 during early WWI artillery shelling.

Victor Zokas, known as Renard, is also the name of the villain in the 1999 James Bond movie The World is Not Enough.

This sign shows the district top right.  Perhaps the holes right for another plate were future proofing against changes.  Or for adapting across other districts through which the road might run.

Significant savings on combined shipping.
