Yuri Derenikovich Apresjan (born 1930 in Moscow) - a contemporary Russian linguist.
He is a professor at the RAN Institute of Russian Language and a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The main area of interest of the author is lexical semantics (synonymy, antonymy, polysemy) and lexicography.
He is the co-author of the concept known as the Sens - Tekst model, developed by I.A. Melczuk and A.K. Zolkovski. He is the author and co-author of several Russian and Ang-Russian dictionaries. (mainly synonym dictionaries).
