The Marantz NR1508 AV Receiver boasts discrete, high current power amplifiers over all seven channels, delivering immersive 3D surround sound thanks to both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoders. The inclusion of Dolby Atmos will allow the Marantz NR1508 to fully immerse you in your movie experience, delivering moving audio that will flow all around you, adding a new level of realism to the story on-screen. And DTS:X decoding will place sound in a space in which it would occur naturally, creating a multi-dimensional audio experience in the home. This improved immersion and heightened realism will allow you to be drawn into the world of your favourite movies and TV shows. The spatial remapping engine, DTS Neutral:X, will make your entertainment experience all the more lifelike.

Video Section

At just over 3 inches tall, this unit is slim enough to fit within most entertainment units or TV cabinets. Fully compatible with the latest HDMI inputs and HDCP 2.2 specifications, the Marantz NR1508 will also pass all the latest video formats, including 4K 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Colour sub-sampling, BT.2020, HDR and Dolby Vision. These formats will be supported through BluRay players, TV cable set-top boxes, games consoles and 4K Ultra-HD streaming and downloads through an Ultra-HD TV or projector. With a firmware update, future HDR broadcast content will be supported through the use of Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) pass-through.

Bluetooth and AirPlay Connectivity

Stream your music as well as your movies! With Bluetooth and AirPlay built into the Marantz NR1508, streaming your favourite tracks from portable devices has been made simple. Online streaming services such as Spotify, and thousands of Internet Radio stations such as TuneIn are available to you. Simply connect your mobile device to the NR1508 through the HEOS app (available through the Apple AppStore, Amazon App Store and GooglePlay for free) to access all of these brilliant options. HEOS wireless multi-room integration allows the unit to become part of a greater, home-wide music system, allowing you to enjoy your music in a more immersive environment.

HDMI Inputs

Six HDMI inputs are offered with the Marantz NR1508, including one on the front panel for those quick connection scenarios. These HDMI inputs feed the unit's advanced video section, supporting the latest HDMI specifications, as well as Dolby Vision. Compatibility with Dolby Vision provides pass-through for HDR broadcast formats. HDCP 2.2 compatibility over each HDMI input will support 4K Ultra-HD copy-protected content, and will ensure that this receiver remains ready for the next generation of BluRay players and Ultra-HD compatible components. The video processor will also upscale any SD and HD video content to 4K Ultra-HD. This has been made possible through the full suite of video calibration controls that have been certified by the Imaging Science Foundation. ISF Day/Night modes are also available.

High-Resolution Audio Decoding

Providing high-resolution audio, the Marantz NR1508 AV Receiver will support decoding of almost all music formats, including: ALAC, FLAC and WAV lossless files up to 24-bit/192-kHz, as well as DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6 MHz tracks. MP3 and other popular files types are also supported. This receiver will also support two subwoofers. Used in different locations in the room, this will give the subwoofers a much smoother response when dealing with low-frequencies and will provide a more accurate bass response anywhere in the listening area.

Control App and MultEQ Editor App

There are a few free-to-download apps that will make operation of the Marantz NR1508 AV Receiver a lot easier. These include the Marantz 2016 AVR Remote App and the Audyssey MultEQ Editor App/ The AVR Remote App will allow for complete control over all new Marantz network AV Recievers, including control over power, volume, inputs, settings, and even gives the user the ability to switch instantly to the HEOS app to access your music and streaming services. The Audyssey MultEQ Editor App will allow users to go "under the hood" of the NR1508, allowing you to view and alter the settings for detailed tuning, offering more precise customisation of sound to combat specific problems your listening space may provide, and allowing you to tailor the sound to your personal preference.
