Marguerite
Roberts (September 21, 1905 – February 17, 1989) was an American
screenwriter, one of the highest paid in the 1930s. After she and her
husband John Sanford refused to testify in 1951 before the House
Un-American Activities Committee, she was blacklisted for nine years
and unable to get work in Hollywood. She was hired again in 1962 by Columbia
Pictures. This item was part of a large collection of
vintage Hollywood signatures, all collected in person at various locations
frequented by the stars of the day in and around Hollywood, by Marguerite
Roberts (info on her available on google/Wikipedia). Once she had the signatures,
she cut them from autograph books and stuck in larger albums / scrapbooks. The
collection was sold at Auction in 2005.
On offer is this clipped piece of an album page/card attached to a larger approx. 4.1/2 x 3.1/2" album page that has been personally hand signed by former French-American actor Charles Boyer.

Charles Boyer (28 August 1899 – 26 August 1978) was a French-American actor who appeared in more than 80 films between 1920 and 1976. After receiving an education in drama, Boyer started on the stage, but he found his success in American films during the 1930s. His memorable performances were among the era's most highly praised, in romantic dramas such as The Garden of Allah (1936), Algiers (1938), and Love Affair (1939), as well as the mystery-thriller Gaslight (1944). He received four Oscar nominations for Best Actor. He also appeared as himself on the CBS sitcom I Love Lucy.
