This two piece device snaps together firmly to hold 1 microscope slide with approximately 1 mm of head space. These units are transpartent to allow for visualization by inverted microscopy or conventional microscopes (assuming the objective has a sizable working distance). Although these devices are not leakproof, they effectively prevent leakage as long as they are not held vertically or shaken vigorously. Applications include:

1. Reducing evaporation of low volume antibody solutions for immunohistochemical or other applications.

2. When growing cells on the surface of a slide, this would likewise prevent most evaporation of media.

3. Slides in these devices are effectively isolated from the surrounding environment to prevent microbial contamination or cross contamination.
