The main Vauxhall dealers will say you will need the whole handbrake unit replacing as the button is not a spare part. The OE handbrake button often breaks within the internal mechanism of the handbrake, resulting in the handbrake not working as it should. The button’s arms that slot into the internals of the mechanisms or the shoulder on the bottom of the button can often snap resulting in the button becoming lodged in place and unable to press in or out, or it can come loose and fall out entirely. This is because the OE button is made of very thin plastic and is not made to last the span of the vehicle’s life.

This is a very common fault on these vehicles; these clips simply aren’t strong enough and will inevitably break.
